STUDENT VOLUNTEERING
All student athletes can assist the trap team with set up for practice, assist with scoring, and cleaning of the range and trap houses after practice.
Upperclassmen can work with Coach Tina Gehrke to achieve silver cord hours.

ADULT VOLUNTEERING & COACHING
The Solon Trap team would not exist without the assistance of adult volunteers.
We are grateful for the coaches who volunteer their time at practices and planning season events.
We are in need of additional adult assistance for the following capacities:

Middle School coaching
-
Scorekeeping at practices and competitions
-
Safety officers at practices and competitions
-
Adult chaperones to ride school transportation
-
Adult drivers to assist with driving the equipment van to competitions
Sign up at the at the initial season Registration meeting (in January of each year) or contact Bev Birky if you can help.
STUDENT ATHLETES
To be an active member of this team:

Register in February and attend the team kickoff meeting

Complete the necessary paperwork and registration fees​

Participate in:

Classroom study
-
6 practices prior to 3rd week of April

Understand the rules of the organization

Members of this team can spend between $600 to $6,000 per season

For Middle School, student athletes (Intermediate Class), they will compete in Singles Trapshooting (16 yards) and shooting rounds of 50 at each competition.

For High School, student athletes (JV and Varsity) have the opportunity to compete in Singles (16 yard), Doubles (16 yard - 2 birds at a time), and Handicap (yardage is set back). Each of the above discipline is based on 50 targets per competition.
